You Show Us Your City
You Show Us Your City is the signature video concept of Scott Radley. Its tagline sums it up: Your city tonight. Our city next.
The idea
Scott travels with three friends. In each city, they meet a group of locals and ask them to show them their city and its culture: the places they actually go to, the food they eat, the way they spend an evening. In return, Scott and his friends cover the night out, within a budget agreed with the group in advance. If the two groups really get along, Scott invites them to come and visit Montpellier, in France.
How an episode works
Each episode is planned around the same five steps:
- A new city. Scott and three friends arrive somewhere they do not know.
- A group of locals. The meeting happens spontaneously, not through a tour or an agency.
- The locals lead. They choose the places, the food and the plan for the evening.
- The night is on Scott and his friends. They cover the evening, within a budget agreed beforehand.
- Our city next. If the connection is real, Scott invites the group to visit Montpellier.
The spirit of the format
The format relies on spontaneity and humour, on cultural exchange rather than sightseeing, and on a simple idea of reciprocity: you show us your city tonight, we show you ours next. The goal is not a perfect itinerary but a real connection between two groups of people who did not know each other the day before.
What it is not
You Show Us Your City is not a nightlife channel and not a city guide. The evening is the setting, not the subject, and each city is seen through the people who live there rather than through its landmarks. What the format is about is the connection that forms between two groups, and the friendships that can last beyond a single night.
Episodes
No episode has been published yet, and nothing has been filmed so far. The first destination in preparation is Wrocław, Poland. Episodes will be listed on the projects page with their dates and a link to the video.
